OVERALL winner in the CM Lorry Driver of the Year competition in Birmingham on Sunday was J. Williams, of Midlands BRS, who drove a Leyland. In Class F he scored the least number of penalty points (92). Other class winners : A D. R. Hickling (Hawley's Bakery), Bedford (78 penalty points); B—R. Dallow (Midlands BRS), Leyland (113); CA. Clewer (Texaco Ltd), Ford (128); D—J. Short (Midlands BRS), Dodge (150); E—M. Beales (Midlands BRS), Leyland (158); G—K. Dyer (Midlands BRS), Guy (126); H—R. Withers (Midlands BRS), Guy (113).
