The Merthyr Corporation has informed a deputation of local residents that attended to protest against the running of Sunday motorbuses in the area that no authority is invested in them that admits of interference with existing arrangements. A spokesman of the local Free Church Council, in replying to a councillor, regretted that efforts made to stop the practice of ministers of religion travelling by train on Sundays had been without avail. It was stated that many chureh-goers from the lower part of the Merthyr Valley used the buses to go to and from services, and the cessation of the service would cause great inconvenience.
