FORMER National Bus Company chairman Lord Shepherd has been elected president of the EEC body which represents the public enterprises of the community, the Centre Europeen de L'Entreprise Publique (CEEP).
Lord Shepherd, who is also a former Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the House of Lords (1974-76), has been chairman of CEEP since 1982. His new appointment is for three years beginning April 1.
As chairman of NBC he was succeeded at the beginning of this year by Robert Brooke.
