Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

interesting letter appeared from Mr. M. H. Heard, particularly regarding the compulsion of companies except the Scottish group to purchase Bristol-E.C.W. vehicles. Only a matter of a few weeks ago in the "Personality of the Week" feature, the general manager of Bristol Commercial Vehicles, Ltd., stated that the companies under the control of the B.T.C. were under no compulsion to purchase Bristol-E.C.W. vehicles.

I should like these conflicting reports clarified. Whilst realizing that the Scottish group of B.T.C. controlled companies have a free choice, and also London Transport, allthe remaining B.T.C. controlled companies seem to keep more or less 100 per cent. to Bristol vehicles.

If they are compelled to purchase in this way I think it is high time they were allowed a free choice of vehicles, even if they keep their purchases to Bristol-E.C.W. products.

Warrington, Lancs. D. BAILEY.
