Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SWEDEN'S production of cars and commercial vehicles reached a new peak of 134.000 units in 1961 as against 128,400 in 1960, according to a survey by Verkstaderna, organ of the Swedish Engineering Employers' Association. Exports of cars and trucks were up by 6,800 to a total of approximately 59,600.

According to preliminary figures Volvo, the largest producers, report a new sales record for 1961 of more than 93,000 units. Of these 80,400 were cars and 12,600 were commercial vehicles.

Scania-Vabis' production of trucks and buses was up by approximately 1,000 to 7,000 chassis during the year and about 500 separate engines were also manufactured. Exports increased by 600 to more than 3,800 chassis, the principal purchasers being Finland, Norway, Holland, Belgium and Argentina. The value of the company's exports, which in 1960 totalled approximately Kr. 100,000,000 (approximately £6.9 m.), is understood to have risen by about 30 per cent. in 1961.

For Scania-Vabis, Argentina last year went up to first place among the 40 countries to which the company exports. Some 500 trucks and 100 buses were shipped to Buenos Aires. The bodies for the buses were built mainly by a bodybuilding company owned by ScaniaVabis's general agent. The truck exports comprised the Scania-Vabis 75-series only. Volvo have started a big expansion of their export sales organization and they foresee continued favourable development. Saab plan to step up production to 37,000 units this year, whilst Scania Vabis plan to maintain their 1962 output at last year's level.

GATEWAY TO NORTH WALES

THE first and vital stage in the improvement of road links between North Wales and northern England was completed last week when the Minister of Transport opened the new dualcarriageway Queen sferry bridge and by-pass in Flintshire; this replaces the old, narrow bridge over the Dee and enables traffic to avoid Queensferry village.
