Here's the week two update Volunteer Start weight: BMI: 17st 11Ib Target weight: 33.8 16st Weight loss week 2: 3Ib Despite a week living it up at the SED construction show, I managed to avoid piling on the pounds. In fact, I dropped another five pounds. My blood pressure is coming down too, so all in all a decent week. I've bought another book to get to grips with the GI Diet and am now much more confident as to what can and can't be eaten. The man who invented the diet codes all foods as red, yellow or green. Until you're at your target weight you just stick to the green. So far it seems to be working. Volunteer 2 Start weight: 17st 0.5Ib BMI: 34.3

Week two tailed to produce the momentum of the first, witn no change up or down in my weight. Two days spent away from home highlighted the problem facing drivers, as it required careful planning to keep my diet under control. I only suffered one major lapse of willpower, when a slice of apple pie proved irresistible. My general health seems to have improved too. I'm sleeping better, and I'm now 'travelling' 20% further during my 10 minute journeys on the exercise bike.

Volunteer 3 Start weight: 15st 9Ib BMI: 30.7 Target weight: 13st 7Ib Weight loss week 2: 2Ib Week two ended ,,vith a 2Ib loss. A little disappointing, but having fallen off the "Weight Watchers wagon" a couple of times (thank you Mr Pringle) ifs not the end of the world. Rather than rely solely on the Weight Watchers point system, I have tried to keep to a low cat/fat diet. I have also discovered Bowyers and Walls low cal/fat sausages —surprisingly tasty, I'd recommend them to anyone going sausage cold turkey, so to speak. I'm on steroids, and have been warned not to expect too much too soon,
