• Glasgow Corporation is planning a commercial lorry park in the Mount Vernon area. east of the city, with an adjoining hostel for 200 drivers and a security office to guarantee the safety of loads. Lanark county council, as adjoining authority, is being asked for approval of this plan, the first such venture in Scotland.
