BIG LEYLAND ORDERS: Edinburgh Corporation have ordered 50 Leyland Titan PDZA.30 double-decker chassis. The order is worth £140,000. Bodywork will be built by W. Alexander and Co., Ltd., and will incorporate a reinforced-plastics front end, heating equipment and fluorescent lighting. Other Leyland orders include 20 Tiger Cub PSU CI. I and 10 Atlantean rear-engined double-deckers for Trent Motor Traction Co., Ltd., 19 AtIameans for Western Welsh Omnibus Co.. Ltd., 15 Titan PD2.40 doubledeckers for Birkenhead Corporation, five Titan PD2A.30 double-deckers for Exeter Corporation, and four Titan P02.40 doubledeckers fot West Hartlepool Corporation.

FOOD DELIVERIES: Kearley and Tonge. Ltd., have ordered 16 Leyland Super Comet chassis. Van bodies will be fitted, and the vehicles used for the delivery of foodstuffs.

THORN YCROFT SERVICE IN YORKSHIRE

TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT (THORNYCROFT). LTD., are closing their branch at St. Michael's Lane, Headingley, Leeds 6. on June 14, and moving to Oswald Tillotson's Samson works in Preston Street, Bradford.'

Oswald Tillotson are already A.E.C. authorized dealers, spare parts stockists and official repairers, and their modern premises are fully equipped to deal with all heavy-vehicle service requirements. A comprehensive range of Thornycroft spare parts and factory reconditioned engines and units will be available 24 hours a day.

SCOTTISH SHOW BALLOT

BALLOTING for Stand space at the 1-1 1961 Scottish Motor Exhibition, which is to be held at the Kelvin Hall, Glasgow, from November 10 to 18, took place at Edinburgh last week. The number of applicants greatly exceeded the number of stands available, but the provisional list of exhibitors shows that 53 companies will be featuring commercial-vehicle exhibits. Cars, motorized caravans, accessories, transport service equipment, tyres and components will also be displayed. the number of exhibitors totalling 203, some of whom will have stands in both the car and commercial-vehicle sections.
