Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

.ORRY DRIVERS who are riendly with lone mothers can ,xpect to have the beady eye I the social security "sex noopers" focused on them. A new code on the payment f supplementary benefits and he• cohabitation rule has just ,een issued to officials who andle the claims.

And it picks out lorry rivers as people who could be ohabitating with a woman –and so lose her the right to enefit payments — even sough he only stays with her ifrequently. The new "A" code states: "The fact that because of the nature of his work a man may be away from home for frequent or long periods, for example a soldier, sailor or lorry driver, does not rule out cohabitation if he looks upon his home as being that of the claimant.

"A claimant should not, however, be regarded as cohabiting where a man (for example, a long-distance lorry driver) who spends some nights of the week with her lives for the rest of the time with his wife."

This week a Department of Health and Social Security spokesman denied that the "A" Code—not freely available to the public—singled out drivers as being any more immoral than any other section of the community.

"We are not in any way impuning lorry drivers—this is aimed at anyone who is regularly and frequently away from home."
