A ONE-DAY conference on freight transport and the urban environment is being organised next month by the Centre for Physical Distribution Management. Chaired by London regiovi CPDM chairman Charles Clarke, it will look at the needs of road transport, industry, and the environmentalists, and will consider rail freight's potential and London's position in the European league table.
Freight Transport Association director general Hugh Featherstone and Road Hau lage Association senior vice chairman Ken Rogers will be among the speakers at London's Regent Centre Hotel on March 27.
Transport 2000's Nick Lester, GLC's Martin Foulkes, and British Rail's Peter Bearcroft will also speak.
