E. Crabtree, Dearstones Lane, Quensbury, near Bradford, and County Garage, Trinity Lane, Ripon, and already most of them have been re-sold to other operators.

Twenty more lorries and two trailers have gone to Mr. W. Storey, Portare, Ackworth, Pontefract, and he has transferred them to Ackworth Transport Co., Ltd., 92 Wakefield Road, Ackworth, who, in turn, have re-sold a number to other hauliers.

According to our Yorkshire correspondent, prices expected for' transport units in the area arc giving shocks. One unit iS priced well above the figure paid for the lorries concerned when they were taken over by the British Transport Commission; and the former owner is not interested in buying back on this basis.

SCOTLAND

Another purchase has been made by Allisons Transport (Contracts), Ltd., Dundee, this time, of three articulated. vehicles (51 tons) and three trailers. One of the outfits (2 tons) has been transferred to Ed. Robertson and Co., Ltd., Dundee,

Mr. Joseph Grant, Broughty Ferry, has added another four lorries (141 tons) to his fleet. Two of these (6 tons) were made over to him by E. Ferguson (Transport), Ltd., Ayr.

Central Garage (Bathgate), Ltd., Bathgate, have acquired five more vehicles (224 tons). Three (161 tons), based at Armadale. have been transferred to William Griffith (Whitburn), Ltd.. Armadale. A lorry (24 tons) taken over in an earlier purchase has been made over by Central Garage to Road Services (Caledonian), Ltd., Dumfries.

Pentland Garage, Lid., Loanheada have bought and re-sold six more lorries. Two 191 tons) have gone to Messrs. William Baxter and Son, Tranent; three (15 tons) to Dalkeith Transport and Storage Co., Ltd., Dalkeith; and one (5 tons) to Messrs. W. Allan and Sons, Gorebridge.

Mr.-Sam Anderson, Newhouse, has taken over a lorry (71 tons) front Mr. James Niinmo. Shotts, and transferred another (41 tons) to Mr. William Cameron, Glasgow-.

Dunvegan ,Supply and Transport Co., Kingsmuir, Forfar, have assigned a lorry CS tons) to Mr. George Aitken, Laurencekirk, and one (57,4, tons) to Angus Transport Co., Brechin.

LONDON AND HOME COUNTIES Whalebone Motors, Ltd., 239-241 High Road, Chadwell Heath, have purchased another nine lorries(27 tons 16 cwt.) and two trailers. Seven, of the lorries and one of the trailers came from Mr. J. Regan, 118 Solebay Street, London, E.8, another lorry and a trailer from Mr. P. Regan, Chun Farm. Horsmonden, and the other lorry from Mr. M. Regan. also of Chun Farm.

So far, one of the lorries (3 tons 4 cwt.) has been transferred to Messrs. A. E. Barnes and Son, 176-178 Bennett's Castle Lane, Dagenham; one (3 tons) to Mr. K. J. Marris, 36 Tweed Way, North Romford; one (2 tons 9 cwt.) to Mr. C. W. Pullinger, 350 High Road,. Murphy Bros. have sold a lorry. (6 tons) to Mr. T. W. Howard, 4 Batley Valley Hill, Loughton, and a lorry (2 tons lrewt.) and a trailer to 'Mr. IL Howard, The Eagle Tavern, 157 Chobham Road, London, E.15. Mr. Brindley has transferred three more lorries (9 tons 3 cwt.), based, this time, in London, to Wilde and Bennett, Ltd., 75 Station Road, Hadfield. Manchester, and one (3 tons) to Mr. S.
