decisions were lodged with the Transport Tribunal compared with 123 in the previous year. Of the 84, 16 were withdrawn.

Of the 74 appeals actually heard by the Tribunal during last year, only 26 were wholly or partly successful. At the end of the year 23 appeals were still pending. of which three were part heard. compared with 29 still outstanding at the end of 1963.

The Transport Holding Co. lodged only two appeals during the year and British Railways Board only three. Both the THC cases were successful, while all three of the railway appeals were dismissed. The THC responded successfully in three appeals; British Railways responded successfully to 21 appeals and unsuccessfully to 11.
