• Western Traffic Commissioner Air Vice-Marshal Ronald Ashford has revoked the eight-vehicle licence held by Southampton-based Blueline International. He refused to stay his decision, pending an appeal to the Transport Tribunal, on grounds of public safety.

• West Midland LA has adjourned Willenhall-based John Moore's application for a two-vehicle licence. Moore's interim licence was extended while he appeals against planning enforcement action being taken against his proposed operating centre.

Defence delays

• Uttoxeter lorry driver John Mellor has been accused of reckless driving on the M6, using abusive and offensive behaviour, falsifying tachograph charts and attempting to pervert the course of justice by falsifying tachograph charts. Crewe magistrates adjourned the case until 12 October at the defence's request.
