steals £15/000

from haulier

HUMBERSIDE POLICE have published a CCTV picture of a man they want to trace for an alleged fraud against a Leeds haulier.

The man went into banks in Beverley and Selby, both in Yorkshire, and made withdrawals from the haulier's account. There were five withdrawals in all, totalling nearly £15,000 — he attempted to make a sixth but left when he was challenged by a cashier at the Yorkshire Bank in Beverley.

The man is described as white, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in with greying black hair and glasses.

Investigating officer John Steer says: This man has put thought into his actions and planned them well."

The alleged offences happened in May, but the police only released the CCTV pictures a few days ago. The haulier has not been named.

• The CCTV picture can be seen on the Humberside Police website, at www. humberside.police.uk/ media-centre/Insumnews release/allegation-of-fraud -yorkshire-bank-beverley/
