Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The use of lorries by the tomato growers in the island of Guernsey is rapidly increasing. They are operated mainly by the growers whose vast greenhouse properties are some five or six miles from the quay and, in the early mornings of the season, the long approach to the cargo boats presents a procession of lorries of all kinds, which have in the past 10 years rapidly succeeded the horse-drawn vehicles.

According to the import returns of the island, just published, 70 lorries were brought into the island last year, as against 52 in the previous year. The total number of motor vehicles imported into Guernsey during 1931 was 534, against 593 in the previous year.
