izeei by the Sheffield and Rotherham Area of the Commercial Motor -Users Association was held at the Fair Ground, near Victoria Station' Sheffield, on Saturday, June 28th. The parade was open to commercial and passengercarrying vehicles operating in or from the area, and the vehicles were judged on their general appearance and condition and on the cleanliness and mechanical condition of the engine and work ing parts. There were 18 different classes for vehicles, with trophies, medals, diplomas and cash prizes.

Prior to the parade, the judges and officials snot at lunch, as also did the drivers and their mates. A collection was made at each function on behalf of the local hospitals, and £28 19s. was collected at the one and £4 9s. at the other. The street collections with the same object in view made along the route of the procession which followed the judging produced the commendaktle sum of nearly £500.

The appearance ,ind condition of the vehicles on parade were really excellent In fact, the marking was very high, and in man 2 of the classes it was exceptionally close. Taking the class for motor coaches, for example, over three-quarters of the total entries scored more than 75 per cent, of the maximum possible marks. In the class for vehicles opera ted by municipal authorities there were five ties for the third prize, and it was only with exceptionally keen judging that sufficient distinctions could be discovered to enable the awards to be finally allocated. .

The results of the contests were as follow • Class 1.—Champion team of three vehicles of any make or type for' the "Motor Transport" Trophy : 1, Abbey Glen Laundry Co.,' Ltd., with three Albion lorries, total marks 274; 2, the same entrant with their second fleet of Albions, with 266 marks; 3, British Petroleum Co., Ltd., three Guy lorries, 260 marks: 4. National Benzole Ltd., three Thornycroft lorries, 259 marks; 5, John Grocock, three Guy lorries, 25E marks ; 6, Anglo-American Oil Co., Lid., an Albion a PierceArrow and a Liberty, i.50 marks. Albion ; bracketed 6, British Petroleum Co., Ltd., Guy, and Kenyon Bros. and Co., Ltd., Yorkshire wagon. There were three ties for eighth place. Total entries in this clam numbered 93.

Class 6.--Best single vehicle of any make or type in any of the following trades: launderers, drapers and grocers: 1, Abbey Glen Laundry Co., Ltd., an Albion, 117 marks ; 2, same entrant, 108 marks; 3, same entrant, 101 marks.
