Volvo trucks to benefit from Clean Air Power

CLEAN AIR POWER has signed a letter of intent with Volvo to incorporate its dual-fuel technology on Volvo truck engines.

The deal will see Clean Air Power marketing its retrofitted, dual-fuel technology, Genesis. on to Volvo's FM 013 Euro-5 vehicles this year.

According to Clean Air Power, the dual-fuel trucks are expected to be 20% more efficient than those with equivalent spark-ignited natural gas engines.

The development will also provide greater levels of gas substitution than the existing Genesis system, as well as corresponding reductions in emissions and fuel use.

The letter of intent will be superseded by a formal contract in the middle of this year with the first commercial products anticipated to be available from late 2009 or early 2010.

John Pettit( chief executive of Clean Air Power. says: We are delighted to be working with such a forward-looking global manufacturer and believe Volvo's brand and resources will provide the ideal springboard for future sales growth."
