BRITAIN was due to appear in the European Court this week on charges of failing to implement the EEC tachograph regulation 543/69.
The hearing, due to start on Wednesday, is the third that Britain has been called to attend on different charges.
As CM went to press a softening of union attitudes among Transport and General Workers Union hardliners was evident.
Some officials are beginning to think that if the case goes against Britain then they may have to accept the tachograph as the law of the land.
