THE EDUCATION Department was last week urged to stop trying to agree with "indifferent" local authorities about a school transport scheme, and impose a plan.
But Margaret Jackson, the Under Secretary, told John Ovenden (Labour, Gravesend) that it was not only indifferent local authorities that disagreed. Groups at present benefiting under the scheme were reluctant to see any change in it.
