• The resignation of Mr J.R.C. Samuel Gibbon, the Licensing Authority and chairman of the Traffic Commissioners for the Western Traffic Area, has not yet been accepted by the Minister for Transport Industries, Mr John Peyton.

As reported last week in CM Mr Samuel Gibbon informed those present at a public inquiry in Plymouth last week that he had given notice of his intended resignation following a letter from the Minister concerning enforcement. Mr Samuel Gibbon restated his views at a public inquiry in Bristol last Friday.

The situation now is that Mr Samuel Gibbon will remain in office as LA and chairman of the Traffic Commissioners until such time as his successor is appointed.
