Avon's southern region, Replacement Tyre Division, is being divided into two separate 'regions following the appointrnent of Mr. J. Collhis-Thosnas, formerly area sales manager, southern region, as sales executive, National Contracts Division. Area sales managers for the two new-regions, to be known as London North and London South, are respectively Mr. J. Ramsay, formerly area sales manager, Leeds, and Mr. E. Wigley, formerly district manager, southern region. Mr. P. Johnston, formerly district manager, becomes area sales manager, Newcastle, and Mr. M. H. Mr. F. M. Stewart, managing director of the North British Rubber Company, Ltd., is retiring at the end of this month. He will remain a member of the board. Mr. E. A. Martin succeeds Mr. Stewart.

Herr Rudolf Egger-Bussing, general director of the Brunswick (West Germany) commercial vehicle manufacturers, Missing Automobilwerke AG, has been awarded an honorary doctor's title by the Brunswick Technical University.

Mr. A. H. Jackson, Liverpool district manager of Leyland Motors, Ltd., has been appointed London area sales manager. Mr. Jackson joined Leyland in 1948 as a post-Services apprentice and entered the sales contracts department in 1950. In 1951 he joined the Liverpool depot as an area representative and was appointed Liverpool district manager five years later.
