Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Minister of Transport has noted the resolution passed by the recent meeting of the Northern Area of the Road Haulage Association. at Newcastle-on-Tyne, but has refused to receive a deputation to discuss the revocation of permits.

A letter from the Ministry points out that a haulier has no right to a permit, and that the matter is one in which the Minister cannot intervene. It adds that he will not interfere with the course of integration under the Transport Act.

A similar application to the Minister by the National Employers' Federation of Vehicle Builders, also on the revocation of permits, has been rejected. Mr. G. E. Ash. chairman of the London branch, told "The Commercial Motor," on Monday, that he was continuing to press the matter.
