IN a report of the traffic section of 1 Nottingham Chamber of Commerce, it is stated that the withdrawal of free hauliers' permits appeared to have created anomalies. Some contractors had been operating entirely on behalf of one concern, distributing small quantities of goods received in bulk by rail. By limiting to 25 miles the radius of operation of such hauliers, deliveries to outlying districts would be dislocated, the report states.
