• Detroit Diesel's vice-president of on-highway sales, David Mayoras, expects Fader' to be the first UK manufacturer to offer the Series 60 engine range. CM tested a Series 60 installed in a Foden earlier this year (CM 11-17 April).
However, Foden managing director Rod Heather says that this will not happen in the foreseeable future because of the depressed state of the market.
Detroit Diesel has won US emission certification for a methanol-powered bus engine.
