AN economic development committee for motor
vehicle distribution and repair has been formed under the aegis of the National Economic Development Council. Its chairman is Sir John Toothill, director and general manager of Ferranti Ltd., Edinburgh, and a member of the nationalized Transport Advisory Council.
The EDC was born of consultations between various motor industry associations, employers and trade unions. It will examine the industry's economic performance, prospects and plans in line with national growth objectives; and consider ways of improving the industry's economic performance.
