Co. in 1906. In 1933, when the London Passenger Transport Board was formed, he was made assistant to the general superintendent (trams and trolleybuses), being appointed to the post of assistant schedules superintendent (road transport) three years later.

MR, J. W. TOBTJTT and MR. A. R. CADMAN, two of the chief assistants of Mr. O. C. Power, J.P. traffic manager of the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., with whom they have worked since he joined the company, recently received presentations from their chief. Mr. Tobutt joined the company in 1899 and has, for many years, been chief traffic superintendent. Mr. Cadman holds the position of chief of the clerical staff in the traffic department, In making the presentations, Mr. Power thanked the recipients for their loyal support during the 40 years they have been with him.

Mr. H. HATTERSLEY has resigned his position with Karrier Motors, Ltd., of Luton, and thus will bring to an end, this month, an unbroken connection of 30 years with that concern. He will then take up an appointment as sales manager with Dennis Bros., Ltd., of Guildford. It was as early as 1909 that he joined Clayton and Co., of Huddersfield, which was then producing its first Karrier petroLengined vehicle. He held the position of assistant works manager during the whole period of the 1914-18 war, following which he became sales and service manager, and in 1925 sales director. For six years following 1928 he was joint managing director with the

late Mr.. R. F. Clayton. Since the removal of the company from Huddersfield to Luton, after its absorption by the Rootes combine in 1934, he has controlled the whole of the company's sales activities, which have shown a steady increase. We wish Mr. Hattersley every success in his new sphere.
