• Progress towards the Government's target of completing 1.000 miles of motorway by the early 1970s, was a feature of the annual report on roads in England, presented to Parliament by Mr. Mulley, Minister of Transport, last week.
In addition to the 560 miles of motorway already open in England and Wales, another 272 miles were under construction at the end of September—"a clear measure of the progress towards the Government's objective," the report says
