nNE of the latest and most interest ing products of Carrimore Six Wheelers, Ltd., North Finchley, 1.ondon, N.12, is a multi-purpose trailer for Grimsby Electricity Department, Equipped with removable sides, it can be employed as anormal load carrier, or, with the sides detached, as a cable-drum trailer or machinery transporter.

The jacks on which the cable drum is carried can be easily removed from their stands and fitted direct to floor to accommodate smaller drums. Alternatively, the jacks can be withdrawn altogether, thereby presenting an unobstructed floor space on which excavators and other heavy, bulky plant can be loaded.

After withdrawing two locking plates, the rear axle, with its stoutly

supported mudguards, can be removed to transform the floor into a ramp with an easy gradient. The central portion of the chequer-plated ramp is integral with the trailer main assembly. the two outside sections being removable and sufficiently light to permit easy handling.

A brakesman's seat and a cableā€¢ operated hand-brake lever are mounted on the raised platform above the front axle, for use when the trailer is towed by a vehicle which is not equipped with the normal vacuum-servo system. Another recent Carrimore product a special pole-carrying semi-trailer, of which a large number has been ordered by a well-known oil company. The Carrimore Quickfit gear, as well as the retractor-type turntable, is employed, and, as an accompanying illustration shows, the semi-trailer is supported on a pair of substantial jockey wheels
