THE South African Railways and
Harbours Administration has ordered 10 luxury buses from Datsun Motor Vehicle Distributors, and the first have already arrived from Japan. South Africa's first motor assembly plant in a Border industries area, at Rosslyn, near Pretoria, which will be operated by Datsun. will start trial assembly runs thi. month and go into production officially in September.
A director of the company has stated that he Bluebird sedan, Datsun LDV, the Nissan Junior (petrol and diesel) and 6-, 8and eventually 12-ton goods chassis will be assembled there. Datsun hope or a big market in South Africa.
