MR. G. F. LAURENCE, personal assistant to MR. M. GoLosmirei, chairman and managing director of Metalastik, Ltd., has been elected a director.
MR. I. R. KYDD, assistant chief engineer of United Automobile Services, Ltd., has been appointed chief engineer of the Lincolnshire Road Car Co., Ltd.
MR. J. P. YOUNG, Scottish divisional manager of British Road Services, has replaced MR. J. B. HAsTIE• on the Transport Users' Consultative Committee for Scotland.
MR, C. H. M. BAKER has been appointed to the board of the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. He joined the company 30 years ago and has been chief purchasing agent since 1947.
MR.. F. A. J. W000wortret has been appointed traffic manager of Hebble Motor Services, Ltd. He succeeds MR. REGINALD DUNK, now traffic manager for the Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Co., Ltd.
MR. J. RUSSELL KNOWLES, managing director of Gulf Oil (Great Britain), Ltd., for the past 25 years, has retired. He is succeeded by MR. NORMAN EDMENSON. The new vice-managing director is MR. J. R. Steteuem.
MR. CHARLES FERRIE, Chairman and managing director of Brown hills Motor Sales, and proprietor of Thompsons Garage (Birmingham)", Ltd., is in hospital. His wife, MRS. AMY FERRIE, and his son, MR. RALPH FERRIE, are acting for him.

MR. 3. BRADBURY has been appointed High Wycombe area representative for H. Glikstcn and Son, Ltd. MR, F. W. AVERY, their hardwoods representative in that area, has retired after 24 years' service,
MR. HARRY W. Dow, director and general manager of Thrupp and Maberly. Ltd., has been re-elected president of the Institute of British Carriage and Automobile Manufacturers, and MR. C. W. WARD, director and general manager, Park Ward and CO., Ltd., honorary treasurer,
• MR. W. F. WACKRILL, a director of the Esso Petroleum Co., Ltd., since 1954, has retired. Mr. Wackrill joined the Esso Transportation Co., Ltd., in 1946 as general manager, and became a director the following year. In 1952 he was appointed managing director. He joined the board of Esso Petroleum when the group was reorganized.
