Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A LBION MOTORS LTD. has won I-1orders worth more than Elm, which should ensure work for its 3,000. employees for the remainder of the year. But the company will sell vehicles to France at a loss in order to extend its sales in the Common Market.

One of the company's technical experts flew to Paris on May 29 to clinch largescale contracts which will mean the supply of hundreds of Albion goodsvehicle and bus chassis at less than cost.

Mr. A. Craig Macdonald, the company's general manager, said: "This is not a desperate move on our part. We are attacking the French market as hard as we can. If we can build up a sufficient volume of exports, the loss will disappear. That is our aim."

Albion signed a collaboration agreement with the Hotchkiss company of France earlier in May; now the Glasgow company is on the point of signing contracts for the supply of chassis through Hotchkiss to a large number of Continental transport operators.

" We have decided that the failure of the Common Market negotiations should not keep us out of Europe ", said Mr. Macdonald. "This move will help to maintain employment in the west of Scotland.

Mr. Macdonald went on to say that although the present target in the Albion sales drive was France, the company would soon be developing negotiations with other European countries.
