John Couithard, former managing director of Northern Ireland Railways, has been appointed managing director of Irish Sea Ferries Ltd. He takes over from Joe Potter, who has been chairman and managing director for the past 18 months, and continues as chairman. Forty-yearold Carlisle-born Mr. Coulthard was dismissed from his £4,000-a-year job with the railways amid a storm of controversy in May. ISF operates a container service between Warrenpoirtt and Garston, and lorry services in both Northern Ireland and England.
