Transport and Warehousing (Manchester), Ltd., who appealed against a decision of the North Western Licensing Authority, refusing them B licences for seven lorries, Mr. J. R. C. Samuel-Gibbon told the Transport Tribunal last week that the Licensing Authority was quite wrong to say they should have nothing.
"It would be reasonable to allow the vehicles, in place of those which were demonstrated up to the hilt as being off the road," he said. "The fact that we are not asking for general authority was proof of our bona fides."
The Tribunal reserved its decision.
