A REORGANIZATION of companies in the Metropolitan-Cammell Ltd. group took place on January 1 to facilitate the manufacture and sale of the group's products.

The existing company became a holding company with the title Metropolitan-Cammell (Holdings) Ltd., the address remaining Metropolitan Road, Saltley, Birmingham 8. Directors are: Mr. A. J. F. Andrews (chairman), Mr. B. C. Bruce-Gardner (deputy chairman), Col. A. T. Maxwell, Mr. W. Scott and Mr. A. P. Wickens.

One of the existing wholly owned subsidiary companies took over the responsibility for railway rolling stock and allied products. This company, Metropolitan-Cammell Ltd., operates from the above address.

Responsibility for p.s.v. and commercial vehicle bodies was taken over by another wholly owned subsidiary, Metropolitan-CammellWeymann Ltd., Bickenhill Lane, Marston Green, Birmingham (tel: Sheldon 2471). This company is responsible for all business formally carried out by the bus and commercial vehicle divisions of Metropolitan-Cammell Ltd. together with that of Weymann's Ltd., Addlestone, Surrey.

Directors of Metropolitan-Cammell-Weymann Ltd. are: Mr. A. J. F. Andrews (chairman), Mr. B. C. Bruce-Gardner (deputy chairman), Mr. P. D. Brunton (managing director), Col. A. T. Maxwell, Mr. W. Scott and Mr. A. P. Wickens.

Mr. D. C. J. Robertson resigned as from December 31 last and Mr. H. N. Edwards retired on the same date after 55 years with the group.

More Kingston OMOs: Three more single-deck bus services in the Kingston-on-Thames area are to be switched to one-man operation, states London Transport. They are services 215, 215A and 264, which will be converted on January 24, bringing the total of central (red) bus area one-man services to 13. The new switch-over involves 14 buses, all 39-seaters converted from existing RFs.

New Ticket Machines for Swindon: Swindon Corporation Transport has placed an order for TIM manual self-printing ticket machines with Ticket Equipment Ltd., Cirencester. The machines will be used on the entire Swindon bus fleet, replacing earlier TIM machines, and will be manufactured in the Kembrey Street, Swindon, factory of the Plessey Components Group.
