Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Asi "early warning" information centre in the West Riding of Yorkshire to liaise between exporters, hauliers, shippers and the docks and provide up-to-the-minute information on the movement of goods through Hull Docks; and the establishment of a depot outside the dock area where small consignments and part loads for export could be dropped by hauliers without entering the docks, the goods then being shuttled into the dock area when required. The examination of these two possibilities, to ease delays at Hull, was agreed upon after a two-hour meeting between representatives of the Bradford and District Federation of Road Hauliers, shippers and' ship owners, manufacturers and dock management called by the Bradford Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Hull chamber in Bradford on Wednesday.

The meeting followed a complaint of delays at the docks sent to the Minister of

Labour by the . Hauliers Federation (COMMERCIAL MOTOR, December 24 last). The Federation had threatened that unless action was taken to ease vehicle delays, traffic to Germany and Finland via Hull would be refused.

Operating hours of the information centre have also to be considered. Representatives at the meeting agreed that more shed accommodation was needed at Hull and it was reported that several new sheds were already being built.

It was also urged that imported goods lying at Hull should be cleared more quickly and so leave room for export goods to be taken in without delay.

The two chambers of commerce are now to consider ways of implementing the decisions and the British Transport Docks Board is to study means of speeding movement within the Hull dock area itself.
