• Brewery transport chiefs are preparing a code of practice to encourage more careful pre-delivery inspections of new vehicles.
They say they are sick of finding niggling faults, such as loose hinges on doors, which have not been picked up by dealers.
The Brewery Transport Advisory Committee, which has drawn up the scheme, says that the code will encourage firms to claim compensation from manufacturers or dealers if a vehicle has to go off the road to fix minor repairs after it is delivered.
