• New facilities were made available for passengers living in the zone between Liverpool and Southport when Ribble Motor Services Ltd, was granted a new express licence from Southport to Cheltenham, by the North Western Traffic Commissioners in Manchester on Tuesday Mr. S. D. Walker. for Ribble, said that this new service was supplementary to the company's existing Liverpool-Cheltenham route. This would be an advantage to those people who at present had to commute into Liverpool in order to travel to Cheltenham. Southport Corporation was prepared to support the applicant in order to obtain this service. There will be no duplication allowed on this service.
