LT.-COL. J. SANDEMAN ALLEN, M.P. for Birkenhead, will take a party of British Members of Parliament to Johannesburg for the Empire Exhibition, which opens in that city on September 15. He acted as secretary to a delegation of the Empire Parliamentary Association which visited Uganda and Tanganyika in 1934. MR. PERCY LEWIS has been appointed manager of the Bradford branch of R. Barr (Leeds), Ltd., and of the Bradford branch of the associated concern, Wallace Arnold Tours, Ltd Mr. Lewis, who succeeds the late Mr. Ray Winter, has been with Ryburn United Transport, Ltd., Bradford, since the latter took over the Bradford firm of Messrs. Sharp and Griffiths, in whose service he was for a number of years.

MR. A. C. RILEY was, at the beginning of this month, appointed by Celion,. Ltd., Richmond Road, Kingstonon-Thames, to manage and develop a special department dealing with the sale in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland of synthetic finishes for all classes of commercial vehicle, including passenger models. The opening of this new department marks an important step in the progress of this well-known company.

Mn. HUGH E. MAcGILLIVRAY has been appointed home sales manager of the Sentinel Waggon Works, Ltd., of Shrewsbury. He was born in Dublin, educated in Glasgow, and served his apprenticeship with' a.well-known Clyde shipbuilding concern. After a period of war service, he joined Albion Motors, Ltd., in Glasgow, and, following experience of demonstration work, advertising and as an outside sales representative, he was appointed advertising manager—a position which ne occupied for over 10 years before resigning to take up his' new post.
