Bulkflo Coal Model put into operation in France recently is the first vehicle of its type to be supplied on the Continent. Similar vehicles have, of course, been supplied to customers in the U.K.. including the National Coal Board.

The French vehicle comprises a Mercedes-Benz 332/46 four wheel chassis fitted with a Bulkflo steel body. pneumatic equipment and patented vibrating hoppers. Both the body and equipment were supplied by Dunn's Motors Ltd., built and fitted in this country and the chassis and cab were temporarily imported for the purpose. The equipment fitted is capable of blowing coal through flexible pipelines for distances of over 180 feet horizontally and 60 feet vertically. Normal delivery speeds of over 20 tons per hour can be achieved. The unit was exhibited at the Paris Show late last month, and is operated by Trentesaux-Leconte of Le Clichy, Seine.
