Commons that the Minister of Transport can now make orders for route extensions has been welcomed by the Tees-side Railless Traction Board. Previously each time the board has sought to extend its trolleybus routes it has meant art application to Parliament— because, as with other systems, the operation of the trolleybuses is under an Act of Parliament.
Commenting on the matter the general manager of the board, Mr. J. L. Flynn, said the new procedure would be much less cumbersome, adding "Unless we got in an application by October, we had to wait another year".
