Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DEMAND that the Government gives r-1 the nation more information about proposed cross-Channel links has bean made by the motoring organizations and other bodies representing road-user interests. A spokesman for the Standing Joint Committee of the R.A.C,, the A.A. and the R.S.A.C., said: "The question of a Channel bridge or tunnel is one which affects everybody. Before the Government enters into any commitments, public opinion should be assessed and Parliament given the opportunity to debate this controversial matter."

In a memorandum sent to every M.P. and member of the House of Lords, the signatories call for publication of a White Paper giving the results of Anglo-French investigations and point out that, although any additional cross-Channel links would be welcomed, all interested organizations should be consulted.
