Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The RHA has launched a blistering attack on the pricing policies of the fuel companies following the rise in dery prices last week.

"We have been unable to secure any reasonable explanation for the difference in timing between increases and decreases in price beyond a vague reference to market forces," says the RHA.

"When the price of crude oil began to fall at the beginning of the year, • there were delays of up to three months before the effect of the lower prices was felt at the pumps. But we have seen that recent increases in the price of crude have led to almost immediate increases in the price of dery to road hauliers."

The RI-R will be meeting this week to discuss its re

sponse to the latest round of fuel price increases, and is expected to renew its campaign with the oil companies and Government departments to get some stability and equity into fuel prices.
