Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Your correspondent Mr. J. S. Marston will be interested to know that the Fowler Road Locomotive KD2826 is still with us I It is kept in preservation (complete with crane), by Mr. F. P. Middleton at Hartlebury, Worcs. It is used on his premises from time to time on lifting jobs in connection with other engines being preserved, and is also steamed at least twice a year at "steam parties" privately held.

I had the pleasure of being one of the crew on this engine on the occasion of the last party, and well recall this engine being used in the early 30s to assist in moving a 98ft girder weighing 100 tons from Marylebone Station to the Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch, for which job the Scammell KD9168 was used, together with a 50-ton Eagle trailer. The Fowler was used to assist in the turn from Marylebone Road into Edgware Road. Mr. E. C. Marston supervised this job, which was repeated the following weekend, and it was featured in CM at the time.

My information is that BLH21, which was supplied new to Pickfords Ltd., is now at Rush Green Motors. Langley. Hitchin, Herts.

KD2826 was purchased from Edward Box Ltd, by Mr. C. H. James of Kingswinford. Staffs, and used commercially for heavy haulage and lifting jobs before being purchased by Mr. Middleton for preservation. I think there can be no doubt that it will be with us for many years yet!
