GIVEN a third reading in the House of Lords last week, the Mexborough and Swinton Traction Bill provides for the replacement of trolleybuses serving Ravvmarsh, Swinton, Mexborough, Canisborough and Wath by motorbuses.
The Mexborough and Swinton Traction Co., Ltd., stated that transport requirements in the district would be met more efficiently and economically by services co-ordinated with those run by Rotherham Corporation and the Yorkshire Traction Co., Ltd.
A clause in the Bill provides that the company will not discontinue running trolleybuses until the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners are satisfied that the services to the public will be maintained
