NO corporation buses were running in Belfast on Saturday—the second successive Saturday that crews had staged an unofficial strike. Their action followed complaints about the efficiency of the outside operational superintendent who, they claimed, was reporting workers for trivial matters.
, The transport committee have asked the National Joint industrial Council to hold an inquiry into the stoppage. In a report to the committee, Mr. J. Mackie, general manager, said he agreed on the Thursday before fhe first strike to hear the meh's grievances, after receiving an assufance that there was no threat of a stoppage. He had refused to curtail the activities of the operating superintendent or to remove from the records entries dealing with timekeeping which he had made. But he was prepared to hold an inquiry or to examine particular grievances the men cared to submit, provided there
were no strike threats.
