Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Lincolnshire operator Appleby of ConishoLme has established an outstation at Seamer, on Scarborough's sea front, and is running three secondhand open-toppers in competition with existing operator Scarborough and District.

Appleby already has depots at Hull and Bridlingon in Humberside, but this operation takes the company over 120km from its headquarters. As well as the seafront route, some local services and an extensive excursion programme is also offered.

EYMS Group subsidiary Scarborough and District operates 10 open-top buses in the town as well as two of the 'Yesteryear Travel' fleet. Passengers now have a choice of at least 10 vehicles on the 3km route.
