TWO dealers in the north-west, Hacketts Haulage, Ltd., 229 Cross Lane, Salford, 5, and Mr. L. Gleave, Holly Bank, Audlern, near Crewe, are concerned in further sub

stantial transactions in ex-British Road Services' vehicles. Nearly half the lorries bought by Hacketts Haulage have been transferred to their associated company, Woodcocks Transport (Chorley), Ltd.

SCOTLAND Tenders for a further five vehicles (6: tons). submitted by Mr. J. G. Barrack, Aberdeen, have been successful.

A repeat purchase has also, been made by John Rhind (Haulage Contractors), Ltd., Aberdeen. It involved. two lorries (61 tons). Jupiter Transport Co., Glasgow, have taken over three vehicles (15 tons) from Mr. George I. Ilrahairt, Glasgow; Road Services (Caledonian). Ltd., Dumfries, one (2: tons) from Mr. Ernest Sanderson, Bearsden; Mr. Richard Aytoun, Dalkeith, one (1 ton) from Pentland • Garage, Ltd., Loanhead: Messrs. J. and M. Transport, Stirling. one (3 tons) from, Charles Horne and Co., Ltd., Grangemouth; Mr. Robert Brown, Musselburgh, one (3 tons) from Dalkeith Transport and Storage Co.,Ltd..Dalkeith, and one (3 tons)

• from Mr. Alexander M. Wright, Dalkeith; and Cusick (Oldham), Ltd., Thornton Street North, Manchester, 9. an articulated vehicle (II tons) and a trailer, based in Glasgow, front Mr. H. I. Huytan, St. Helens.

NORTH-WEST

Mr. L. Cleave, Holly Bank, Audlern, near Crewe, has been granted special A licences for a further 24 vehicles., including three articulated outfits (911 tons) and three trailers. Fourteen of the lorries and the trailer (501 tons) were transferred to him by the Warringtori Warehousing Co., 54 Market Street, Newton-lc-Willows.

A number has been re-assigned as follows: ,Two lorries (10.2 tons) to Longton Transport, Ltd., Church Street, Langton: one (5 tons) to Mr. S. Anton, in the Scottish Traffic Area; one (3 tons) to Mr. J. Peatfield, 40 Stone Road. Stafford; two (6 tons) to Mr. H. Winfield, and one (21 tons) to Mr. N. E. Owen, both in the West Midland Traffic Area; one (21, tons) to Mr. N. Meakin, 201 Swanlow Lane, Winsford; one (41 tons) to Messrs. J. D. Thomas and Son. Avon Garage, Penntaerunawr; one (2-1 tons) to Mr. G. P. .Potter, The Cock, Salop Road, WeLshpool; and a lorry and a trailer (5 tons) to Mr. IL E. Nixon, 13artington, Lower Whitley, near Warrington, Mr. Gleave has also transferred three. lorries (9 tons), taken over in an earlier purchase, to Mr, K. Miller,. 5 Oakmere Avenue, Withnell, near Charley, who has also bought vehicles nom: Cleave Transport (Audlern). Ltd., Holly Bank, Andlem, near Crewe (a lorry and a trailer-61 tons), and Mr. D. R. Pass, Boundary Farm: Banks, near Southport (art articulated outfit-51 tons), as well as two lorries (6 tons) direct from British Road Services.

Most of these have now been re-assigned by Mr. Miller, two lorries (5 tons) going to J. W. Ratcliffe and Sons, Ltd.. Low Bank Road Garage, Ashton-in-Makeilield; one (3 tons) to Clarendon Haulage Co., Church Street Garage, Ribehester. near Blackburn; one (41; tons) to Mr. G. Gasket], Larkfield. Southport Road, Searisbriek; a trador (21 tons) to Mr. J. W. Ratcliffe, Ashton-in-Makerlield; a trailer (Li tons) to Fearings Transport. Ltd., 76-80 Barracks Road, .Burnley; and the articulated trailer to Naylors Transport (Leyland), Ltd., Longmeanygate, Leyland.

e24 J. W. Ratcliffe and Sons have also taken over a lorry from Messrs. F. Milner and Son, Brewery Lane Garage, Lancaster. Gleave Transport (Audlem), Ltd., have transferred another lorry (71 tons) this time to Messrs. Dee Valley Transport, Regent Street, Llangollen. Special A licences for a further 51 vehicles, including two articulated outfits and 10 trailers (2701 tons), have been granted to Hacketts Haulage, Ltd., 229 Cross Lane, Salford, 5. Twenty-two of the lorries (981 tons) have since been made aver to Woodcocks Transport (Charley), Ltd., Park Road Garage, Heskin, near Chorley, who, in turn, have transferred two of them (71 tons) to Mr. W. H. Phillips, Wirksworth. An articulated outfit (9 tons) taken over by Woodcocks Transport in an earlier purchase, has been sold to Blueline Transport (Prestwick), Ltd., in the Scottish Area.

First purchasers are Mr. G. A. Chamberlain, Bradeley Road, Haslington, Crewe, who has bought a vehielt (: ton): Mr. L. Crosbie, 10 Marsden Street, Liverpool, 6, one (11 ton); and Mr. L. J. MeDermot, 108 Leytield Road, Liverpool, 12, one (3 tons).

Thorngumbold Garages, Ltd., 9 Humber Street, Hull, have bought -another lorry. Direct purchases have also been made by Mr. R. G. Crowther, Three Houses Garage. Sandal, Wakefield (two lorries); S. A. Bell, Ltd., Norton, Mallon (one); and 'Messrs. G. Keen and Son, 19 Clifton Street,' Sheffield (one).

Ackworth Transport Co.. Ltd., Hodgson Street, Hull, who have taken over a lorry from Humber Transport, Ltd., 101 York Street. LONDON AND HOME COUNTIES Lionel Blackman Transport Service (Kent), Ltd., Maidstone Road, Sutton Valence, have been granted special A licences. for a further three lorries (9 tons).
