ANEW product of Messrs. Pickard and Wild, The Motor Mart, Dale Street, Brighouse, is a 5-cwt. generalpurpose trailer of the single-castor wheel type. It is equipped with a sided body measuring 4 ft. 6 ins. by 2 ft. 6 ins. by 10 ins, and is offered at 21'2 12s. Having an unladen weight of only about 14 cwt., this trailer is exempt from the obligation to have brakes or to carry a T plate.
It is named the Miller Ezebak trailer and is suitable for small commercial
vehicles or cars. The • vehicle is attached to the towing unit by a horizontal hinge pin, so that the outfit is rigid laterally but articulated to permit relative vertical angular movement. Capable of swivelling about a substantially vertical steering head, but having a definite " trail," the single wheel follows where the towing vehicle leads, either forwards or backwards.
The wheel, which carries a 16 by 4 tyre, and is detachable, is properly sprung and a damping device is 'pro vided to prevent wobble. All parts appear to he substantial and the whole well made.

MR. MATTHEW Mowisr, chief traffic superintendent of the passenger transport department of Oldham Corporation, has retired after 37i years with the department. He has been chief traffic superintendent since March, 1918. He started his working life with Oldham Corporation, as a tram conductor, in 1902.
