Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

which I carry machinery. What is the maximum legal loading which can be put on this rear axle?

RegulatiOn 87(4) of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations applies in this case. Briefly, if a vehicle has more than two wheels in line transversely, the total weight transmitted to the road surface by the wheels may amount to but not exceed 11,180kg (11.003 tons). This presupposes that the wheels are on a single axle and that no combination of closely spaced axles is relevant.
