Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN addition to trying to acquire the I 75 per cent interest in Tayforth Ltd.—at a cost of about £5 m.— about a dozen undertakings, or interests in them, have been or are in the process of being acquired by BRS companies.

The Minister of Transport who gave this information to MPs this week, said that these developments, which involved a further cost of around £2m., had started since last October.

Pressed by Mr. Francis NoelBaker (Labour, Swindon) to say what further extensions were planned, Mr. Fraser replied that it would be contrary to the interests of the Transport Holding Company to say this.
